Lifetime Mortgages: a few things to remember

Thinking of moving home?

You could take your Lifetime Mortgage with you. To find out how this works, give us a call.

Monthly payments

You don't have to make them, but you can voluntarily if you want to cover some or all the interest we charge each month. If you don't, the interest is added to what you owe, which compounds over time.

Downsize protection

After 5 years, if you move to a property that doesn’t meet our lending
criteria, you can repay the loan in full without early repayment charges (ERCs).

Stay in your home

You can stay in your home for the rest of your life, even if the value falls to less than what you owe us.

Significant life events

If you’re a joint borrower and either of you passes away, or needs to move into long-term care, give us a call. We’re here to offer support and get your records in order.

Someone moving in?

Let us know as soon as possible.

If you’d like to add them to the mortgage, our team will talk you through if this is possible and any costs. If you don’t want to add them to the mortgage, we’ll send them an occupier consent form to complete and send back for our records.
